The Xiaomi Mi A1 is without doubt one of the finest budget phones
that you can buy at the moment. It is Xiaomi’s first Android One device;
this means that it completely runs stock Android with no modifications.
Xiaomi promised that it would receive Oreo by the end of 2017, and
while the final update is yet to be ready, some owners have been invited
to a private beta test.
Earlier
this December, Xiaomi launched an Oreo beta software package for the Mi
A1 smartphone. Initial reports state that the recent build makes the
fingerprint scanner faster with regards to the scanning time and also
the dual-SIM feature requires an improvement.
At
present, there’s been some more information regarding the beta build of
the Xiaomi Mi A1 from reports reaching us stating that Xiaomi has made
an improvement to the device such that it now supports fast charging in
the build. The charge time required for the phone’s battery to be at a
100% is now 92 minutes instead of the usual 2 hours. Therefore, for
those who were disappointed with the Mi A1’s inability to charge fast
out of the box, be on the lookout for the ultimate Oreo release.
The
reports have also noted that Oreo have made app loading much faster and
animations have become more improved (in that, they have now become
smoother). The Oreo beta update also brings all the goodies that Android
8.0 has to offer, revamped quick settings, redesign of apps, picture in
picture mode, among others. We won’t fail to mention that all the
standard Oreo goodies are present, including adaptive icons and Autofill
API.
Xiaomi is
still promising that the app will be ready by the end of the year 2017,
so unless something comes up that unavoidably delays the release, it
should be out in the next six days.
